Bill Wilhelm

Bill Wilhelm was born in Uniontown, PA and grew up in Southern New Jersey. He graduated from Kent State in Ohio in 1968 and after a brief stint as an infielder with the US team in the Global Baseball League, he came to Duxbury and in 1969 entered the life insurance business.

Bill and his wife, Marcia, are residents of Duxbury and have been there for over 25 years. Duxbury, 37 miles south of Boston, is a quiet, residential community and the subject of many of Marcia's paintings. A well-known local artist, Marcia is also Bill's administrative assistant in the insurance business, as well as his coaching assistant on the soccer field.

Bill received his bachelor's degree from Kent State University in Ohio. He began working in the insurance field immediately after graduation. He furthered his education in the insurance field as be became certified in many different areas. He specializes in life insurance and disability insurance for individuals, families, and businesses.

He has been the recipient of the coveted National Quality Award more than ten times. He has often been recognized by the industry for various achievements, including the Million Dollar Round Table, National Leader's Club, and the Century Club Award and the Life Achievers Gold Award.

One of the things Bill is most proud of is his relationship to his community. A very integral part of that relationship is his 30+ years associated with the Duxbury High School soccer program. With over 400 career wins, he has been recognized as the Massachusetts Assistant Coach of the Year. More than that, he values the rapport he builds with his players and their families.

As WATD came on the air for the first time in 1977, the voice of Bill Wilhelm was heard announcing the high school Super Bowl Game between Hull and Ashland. That was only the beginning . . .
Numerous honors and awards have followed:

-Associated Press Honors for play-by-play in both football and basketball

-Massachusetts High School Soccer Media Person of the Year

-Massachusetts High School Football Hall of Fame Media Person of the Year

-Host of the award-winning show, "Sports Exchange" on Sunday evenings since 1977
